Story isn’t a soft skill.

It’s the skill.

Every problem that involves another human has a story solution.

Matt Livadary teaches businesses and leaders how to find it and use it to win.

Most people think they know what storytelling is.

Beginning, middle, end. A great presentation. A long pitch. The thing the marketing team does.

But story is also a single word chosen over another. A question asked at the right moment. A gift that arrives when nobody expected one. A pause before an answer. A slide image that moves the audience. It can be the difference with getting buy-in, generating a referral, inspiring your team, and so much more.

The tactics that have moved human beings for thousands of years -- tension, surprise, stakes, curiosity -- didn't stop working when PowerPoint was invented. They just stopped being taught.

Once you see how story operates in the modern world, in a conversation, a negotiation, a sales call, a town hall, a text message -- you can't unsee it.

We’re living through the greatest attention crisis in human history.

AI is flooding every inbox, every feed, every meeting with more content than any human being can process. We’re more connected than any generation before us -- and more starved for genuine connection than ever. Every tool designed to bring us closer has made us faster, more efficient, and somehow more alone.

Somewhere in all of that efficiency, we forgot how to make each other feel something.

You can see it in burnout scores, pipeline stagnation, culture surveys and every all-hands where you looked out at a room full of people who were physically

present and somewhere else entirely.

The organizations winning right now aren't the ones with better technology. They're the ones where people still know how to walk into a room and make something happen.

That capacity -- to move another human being on purpose -- is not a gift. It's a skill. With a structure. That anyone can learn.

And almost no one is teaching it.

About Me

When I tell business leaders I’m a storyteller, they assume I mean around a campfire. But storytelling isn’t fluff. It’s a success tool. It’s how leaders inspire, how brands grow, and how people remember you. I’ve used it to drive results for Fortune 100 brands. And the good news is anyone can learn do it better.

I didn’t start out as a good storyteller. My first documentary nearly broke me - I spent years trying to wrestle 800 hours of footage into 90 minutes. Most of the time I thought I just wasn’t “creative enough.” Eventually, I got some key advice from trusted friends, and things clicked. That film went on to win major awards and even land on Netflix. But if I’d learned those fundamentals sooner, I would’ve saved myself years of stress, wasted money, and sleepless nights.

Since then, I’ve told stories under pressure for some of the biggest brands and agencies in the world—Intel, Honda, Ford, and more (see samples of my work here). I know firsthand how to adapt stories to any format: a two-hour film, a two-minute pitch, or an All Hands meeting.

And now I teach what I’ve learned. Over 20,000 students - from college classrooms to B2B boardrooms to executive retreats - have discovered the unfair advantage storytelling provides. My favorite moment is always the same: when someone who swore they weren’t a storyteller realizes they can actually command a room.

And once you learn the storytelling language, achieving your goals gets a whole lot easier.
